Dear Year 11 Student,
The Ministry for Education and Employment (MEDE) is launching an exciting new nationwide project: issuing your Secondary School Certificate in digital form on the blockchain.
Your blockchain Secondary School Certificate will be available and easily accessible via the Blockcerts Mobile App which can be easily downloaded by following the below Steps:
Step 1: Download the Blockerts Wallet app by clicking the link corresponding to your mobile operating system below:
Step 2: Soon you will receive an automated email from us inviting you to add the Ministry for Education and Employment as an issuer.
Step 3: Once you have downloaded the app, from the same device where the Blockcerts wallet app was installed, just click the link in the email mentioned in Step 2, and we will appear in the app as your first issuer! It’s that easy. It’s important that you have added the Ministry for Education and Employment as an issuer in order to receive your digital certificate on blockchain.
At the end of your scholastic year, the Ministry for Education and Employment will be issuing your digital Secondary School Certificate and you will be notified at this email address. The Secondary School Certificate will be a file attached to the email, which we suggest you download and save in a secure place. You can now easily retrieve, verify, and share your Secondary School Certificate.
For your convenience, a Flyer and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document has been compiled to answer any questions you may have. Educational Assessment Unit
In view of the last updates regarding schools and Matsec/Sec examinations, our Department is to postpone the ECDL July 2020 testing session to mid-September/October as long as the Health Authorities give us the go-ahead to do so.
Deadline for application remains the same as indicated below.
Kindly note that the ICT department is attaching the ECDL application (click on link at the end of this message) for all those students who would like to sit for ECDL exams during next testing session.
All those interested must follow these instructions by not later than Thursday 2nd April:
- Print the application;
- Fill in the student details in block letters;
- Tick the module/s that the student would like to sit for its exam;
- Sign the application by both the student and parent/guardian;
- Scan the application and send it to Ms F. Grima (ICT Head of Dept) on: email@example.com
PS: All those students who might have any difficulties to fill in the application form must kindly contact Ms Grima on the email address above for further assistance.

We would like to remind you that SEC May 2020 applications will be open from Monday 28th October to Friday 8th of November both days included. All students in Year 11 are eligible to apply. Also students in Year 10 who will be 16 years of age during 2020 are also eligible to apply. Year 10 students are being encouraged to apply for their eID during the summer holidays to avoid delays as it would be much more difficult to apply for it during the months of October and November when applications for SEC exams are out.
